How is married life?

It’Roman-Numeral-Wedding-Date-Matching-Tattoos-750x750.jpgs been 9 (nine) months (can’t believe it’s been nine months already) and “How is married life” has got to be one of the most frequently asked question of all times.

Here’s what I’ve learnt about marriage so far;

Communication

Communication to relationships is like oxygen to life. There’s no relationship without it. If you didn’t develop a friendship before the marriage then this might be hard, it gets hard even when you were friends before, imagine not being friends… oh boy.  Yo u have to communicate your feelings even when you don’t want to.

It’s all about team work

Working as a team is very necessary with getting the task done. Whether it be, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping.. whatever it is, there should be balance. The last thing you want is a worn out husband or wife.

Put away pride

Having to swallow your your pride and woman up  or man up when needs be can be hard. Remember, two different personalities came together to be one.  Being married means you have to love him or her even when you hate them.

Don’t sweat the small stuff…

I remember always reading Tony Gaskin’s picture posts and he stated time and time again; “if it isn’t worth breaking up over, then let it go”.. oh I’ve come to realize that it is really easier said than done but it must be done if you want your relationship to last a lifetime.

Those are few of the things I’ve learned so far. Share with me your thoughts.

  1. Shana… congratulations first of all.. :).. getting married is a happy juncture in personal life.. i am married for sometime now and while the phase of “how’s married life treating you” queries is long over… i can understand it mostly gets you looking for an appropriate response because the actual responses like “none of your business” might offend both the well meaning and not so well meaning friends ;)… and while all of the above is pretty much it when it comes to having a successful relationship i often find myself telling husband that ” i might not like you all the time but i love you ” and so it goes on …
