Inspiration| Be you, but evolve

Hello Beautiful people,

How are you all doing today? I hope you all had an amazing weekend.  I didn’t do much, the usual, errands and lounge around the house. After all, I’m not about the “turn up on every scene kind of life” perhaps when I was younger but not anymore. I made a major turn about 3 years ago and I’d never want to go back to such a lifestyle. With that said, it is important for us to be ourselves and evolve at the sametime. Growing is necessary in today’s society, we have to reach for the greatness in us and produce.

The lovely Viola Davis said last night in her powerful acceptance speech at the Emmy Awards 2015 that, The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. The great Viola Davis who made history last night for her role as Annalise Keating in ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder, being the first BLACK winner to  win an Emmy for best drama series, Another prominent African-American woman winner on the night was Uzo Aduba, who took the best supporting actress in a drama prize for her role in Orange is The New Black. And veteran black actress Regina King won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress her role on ABC’s American Crime. I said all that to say this, that progress is a beautiful, I’m pretty sure these women fought hard, worked hard to be where they are right now and it is just beautiful to see people on a whole no matter your skin color, evolve and be great.

I have evolved so much over the years and I’m so grateful to God. I’m grateful for the turn around. The changes I’ve made, the steps I’ve taken to really push myself. Evolving doesn’t mean It’ll happen over night. Baby steps in the right direction, effort and consistency, those are the key to being great. Be you, be true and don’t get lost in this world, where some people ONLY care is investing in buying new clothes, makeup, drinking, gambling and turning up at the club every weekend. What about upgrade to a higher education, creating employment for yourself, an act of kindness, whatever positive thing you want to do in your life, that’s called self investment and watering your own grass. Find that greatness within you. Invest in yourself, water your own grass means . Sometimes change is  beautiful and refreshing.

Share with me what steps you’ve been taking to become a better person. I want to get to know you all better.

Until next time …Be you, but evolve.

Have a positive week loves!
