Sometimes we take for granted that the people you care about will always be here forever. Often times we allow pride, ego and even selfishness to stop us from making the people we genuinely love and care about know how we feel.
When I was growing up, my mother never failed to tell her children “don’t scatter roses after I’m gone”. Those few words speaks volumes to mean and will forever resonate in my mind. They mean don’t wait to show someone how you feel about them after they’ve left this earth, show them while they are present in our lives.
Sometimes we get so caught up with the things that are going on in our lives that we forget to tell or show our friends and family that we love and appreciate them. We fail to extend this love to people we don’t even know as well. The bible says, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Mark 12:31) it means treat people in the positive way you’d treat yourself.
Don’t let the dust settle on your anger towards anyone. Find a place in your heart to forgive them. (Very difficult, I know) but we all make mistakes, we are all still learning as the days go by.
Carry out an act of love and kindness today. Better yet if you haven’t been showing them you love them, start doing that today. Life isn’t as long as we think it is.
Have a great weekend.. Xo
